Our aim is to get people back to work.

By helping the voluntary sector with free design for publicity and website, our own volunteers gain valuable experience that can be used to either secure a job or set up in business themselves. Everything is designed on the open source software so there are no costs apart from expenses.

We are also providing training in Linux operating systems which are a highly viable alternative to Windows based programs. Again our own volunteers gain valuable experience implimenting networks and desktop envionments. But the real beauty of the scheme is that Linux is free to use and so are virtually all of the programs. You save money too !

You don't need to improve your hardware - Linux runs efficiently on existing computers and will save you a fortune in licence fees.

We are currently running a unfunded pilot scheme with 3 young people who are now working on several desgn projects. We aim to prove that CCS is a viable alternative to pushing millions of pounds into training schemes that have no jobs at the end of the course. Any funding for getting these youngsters into work will then be used to provide them with a business start up and support to gain extra funding from organisations such as The Princes Trust. We also hope to enlist the help of some business advisers to work with these young people for the first year.

It's not just about teaching people how to create their own web sites, its about showing people how to create promotional material that spans the web, print and press to grab attention all of the time, not just some of the time - all of the time. It's about building a community of people all working together, and encouraging the voluntary sector to work together to achieve their objectives, rather than each trying to do their 'own thing' all of the time

All a web site will cost you is the price of the domain name and the hosting fees. If you use one of our recommended suppliers this could be between £50.00 and £75.00 plus VAT depending on whether you book a .co.uk domain or a .org.uk. The important thing to remember is you own your own domain - we just access the site to keep it upto date.

Where printing is concerned it will be the price from the printer divided by the number of organisations using the print management scheme.

We WILL save you money and we WILL improve your visibility

It's not just about teaching people how to set up IT systems but about showing organisations how to make use of the new open source software that allows you to take control of your budgets and maximise your computing abilities. It's also about showing organisations that the move from a completely 'Windows' environment to open source is easy and very cost effective. Open source software is still free to use and install and you do not need a licence to operate any of the programs or operating systems.

To use our facilities you must be a charity, a charitable organisation, a public body or a not for profit organisation. We are also happy to work for new business start up ventures and anyone looking to benefit the wider community.

To find out more, we invite you to browse through this site to see what CCS can do for your organisation.
